Now Let’s talk about food. Even if you're a bit of a picky eat (like me) you can find something at each restaurant on board. In terms of free of charge places there are many places to eat on the boat for dinner, only two for breakfast and two for lunch.
The Pantry
Open: breakfast, lunch and dinner
This is the buffet style area on deck 14 where you can sample many different meals if you want. Most of the meals you will have to ask someone behind a glass counter for and they will dish it out for you. The only ones that you can grab yourselves are sandwiches, soups, fruit and salad. Even for breakfast toast will be cooked for you. There is free tea and (instant) coffee that you can help yourself to as well.

While I enjoyed some of the food in the Pantry, it could get very crowded with a lot of queues and you could be very tempted by the sweet treats on display. I was a little disappointed that the fruit seemed to be tinned fruit and there was rarely a decent salad to accompany a meal I picked up from one of the glass counters.
The Waterfront
Open: breakfast, lunch (most days) and dinner
If you would like an a la carte dining experience with some fresh white table clothes then The Waterfront is the place for you. The menu does change, I can’t remember how often, but it changed a few times when I was on board. I thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast at The Waterfront. When you sit down you are offered tea or coffee, an assortment of pastries and juice before you order. You may order as much or a little as you like. If you want fruit and a the big breakfast - you can or if you just want one plate of food you can do that too. They will also refill your tea or coffee as you dine.
Dinner I didn’t like as much. This is possibly due to me being a picky eater. Again the menu does change about halfway through the cruise for dinner. It does have a dress code for all dining occasions (no tank tops or gym gear for men).
Sorry for some reason I don't have a picture to insert here to show you.
Angelo’s
Open: dinner

Another crisp white linen tablecloth experience but this time with Italian food. You order your entree and main before a lovely server will wheel a tray of desserts to your table. The menu changes halfway through the cruise again. This is also where you get asked if you would like pepper from a man holding a giant pepper cracker. I remember not liking the first menu but enjoying the second and the dessert where always a favourite amongst my friends.
Dragon Lady
Open: dinner
By far my favourite restaurant on board. An asian style food restaurant who are happy to explain the menu. You are given a shooter and vegetable chips before you order. You order your entree main and dessert at the same time. This was the restaurant that we kept going back to as it was so so good.

The others that you have to pay for. So the other restaurants not included in your cruise are 400 Gradi (Italian Restaurant), Salt by Luke Mangan (degustation, have to book) and Luke’s Burgers.
After all the food on board you probably want to work that off? No? Okay maybe you just want to hear about some ways people do try to keep a bit healthy on board with their fitness. In Part 3 I'll tell you about the gym and the pools.
Until next time,
